Spare Parts Planning Engineer

Position purpose:

In this role, you will be responsible for administrating the factory's spare parts inventory and ordering process ensuring that spare parts are available to fulfil the Maintenance Plans. Ensure that the factory's spare parts stock levels are right-sized and adjusted to the factory's business requirements and commitments.

What will you do – responsibilities:

  • Ensure full life-cycle management of spare parts inside the company's ERP system based on business requirements, from creation to disposal. Ensure that the regular ERP MRP process is configured and runs correctly. Check and actively prevent duplicate or abnormal ordering of spare parts from suppliers, in case of incorrect requests
  • Ensure constant coordination with factory Maintenance Planner(s) and maintenance teams to ensure just-in-time delivery of spare parts based on the factory's maintenance plans. In case of urgent requirements (breakdowns or urgent corrective maintenance), expedite spare parts deliveries, either from OEMs, local suppliers, or via Interco Spare Parts Transfers
  • Performs regular spare parts stock optimization activities and effectively achieves the factory's yearly objectives for spare parts stock levels.

    - Adjust periodically the min/max and safety stock levels for spare parts according to the Standard Spare Parts Optimization Process, ensuring inventory right-sizing based on actual demand

    - Conduct periodical stock analysis to identify opportunities for yearly spare parts write-offs as per the Global Obsolescence Management Process and coordinate or support the write-off / physical destruction process following local legislation
  • Regularly analyze spare parts usage patterns to identify opportunities for the creation of Preventive Maintenance Programs (TBM/CBM) as a preferred alternative to Safety Stock increases. Coordinate with Maintenance Planner(s) for the creation and implementation of regular Preventive Maintenance Programs (TBM/CBM)
  • Ensure that spare parts are ordered and delivered on time and perform regular control of the Spare Parts Supplier's Delivery performance. Coordinate with global and local functions to ensure optimum spare delivery performance is achieved
  • Drive regularly the intercompany transfers for spare parts as a means to reduce local surplus stock and to avoid cash-out purchases of spare from OEMs when surplus stock is available in other JTI locations

Requirements:

  • Technical University degree
  • More than 3 years experience in the Tobacco Industry; Project Management know-how and technical development in industrial environments
  • Fluent English (written & spoken), other languages are an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge/experience working with MS Office applications, Power BI, SAP Inventory Management
  • Analytical Skills
