DevOps Engineer (Python-Based Crypto Exchange Project)

Darkex Exchange LLC is an innovative cryptocurrency exchange platform headquartered in Tirana, Albania. With a Python-based Centralized Exchange (CEX) at its core, our mission is to deliver a secure, scalable, and high-performance trading experience to users worldwide. To support our growing infrastructure and ensure the seamless operation of our platform, we are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to lead our deployment, automation, and system optimization initiatives.

Position Overview

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be a key player in maintaining and enhancing our technical infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include automating deployment pipelines, managing cloud environments, ensuring system scalability, and optimizing platform performance to handle high-frequency trading demands.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain a scalable and secure infrastructure for the Python-based cryptocurrency exchange platform.
  2. Manage cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar) to support development, testing, and production environments.
  3. Optimize infrastructure to ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.

Automation and Deployment:

  1. Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
  2. Ensure consistent and efficient deployment workflows for both backend and front-end applications.
  3. Automate routine operational tasks using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent.

System Monitoring and Performance:

  1. Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog.
  2. Conduct performance tuning and resource optimization to meet the demands of high-frequency trading.
  3. Perform capacity planning and system scaling to handle growing user and transaction volumes.

Security and Compliance:

  1. Implement best practices for security, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
  2. Regularly conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments, applying patches and updates as necessary.
  3. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for cryptocurrency exchanges.
  4. Work closely with developers, blockchain engineers, and QA teams to support development and testing needs.
  5. Collaborate on infrastructure requirements for new features and services.
  6. Provide DevOps expertise in architectural discussions to ensure operational excellence.

Qualifications

Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Technical Skills:

  1. Automation Tools: Expertise in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
  2. Cloud Platforms: Proficiency with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, storage, and networking services.
  3. Containerization: Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes for managing microservices.
  4. Infrastructure as Code: Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for provisioning and managing infrastructure.
  5. Monitoring and Logging: Hands-on experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or equivalent.
  6. Networking: Solid understanding of networking principles, including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and load balancers.
  7. Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation tasks.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience with high-frequency trading or financial systems.
  2. Knowledge of blockchain infrastructure and cryptocurrency protocols.
  3. Familiarity with Python-based frameworks like Django or Flask.
  4. Understanding of secure key management and encryption techniques.

Experience:

  1. Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
  2. Proven experience in managing large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure.

Soft Skills:

  1. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  2. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  3. A proactive and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
  4. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

RELOCATION TO TIRANA / ALBANIA IS MANDATORY

Fluency in English is required for this role.
