What you'll do

The role contains following responsibilities across Vodafone Turkey Technology Centers including new and existing Data Centers and Switching Centers of Vodafone in Turkey and North Cyprus:

  1. Design, implement and follow up power, cooling, structured cabling and floor layout, by considering industry standards, requirements and best practices in line with the budget.
  2. Coordinate vendor and subcontractor activities.
  3. Communicate with internal customers to address their requirements and needs.
  4. Plan and implement energy saving and cost cutting projects.
  5. Have good knowledge on data center physical infrastructure standards by global organizations TIA, ASHRAE, IEC, etc.
  6. Plan project workflows, project organization and timeline, and make essential revisions in the project scope and timeline.
  7. Provision the cost of each design activity and forecast future site requirements.
  8. Make essential reporting to Vodafone Group IT, NW Core teams, etc.
  9. Prepare periodic project progress reports/system status reports.
  10. Prepare the engineering plans and site technical design packages/specs for infrastructure and energy systems.
  11. Generate floor layout and site cabling design.
  12. Do capacity planning on power and cooling infrastructures.
  13. Prepare technical product specifications and installation guidelines.
  14. Negotiate technical issues with vendors, manufacturers and suppliers.
  15. Coordinate installation/decommissioning/re-homing of infrastructure and energy systems at existing and new mission critical centers.
  16. Monitor/track/report progress of project plans/milestones.
  17. Implement assessment deliverables to boost site efficiency.
  18. Conduct and supervise installation subcontractors onsite.
  19. Communicate with stakeholders at NW, IT and other internal customers.
  20. Search new generation systems and best practices for OPEX saving and cost effectiveness.
  21. Improve the site efficiency, lowering the PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) metric.
  22. Follow up the energy consumptions of the technology centers.
Who you are
  1. Good knowledge and experience on the infrastructure technologies, power, cooling systems, structured cabling, energy saving and sustainability and site floor layout optimisation and design of data centers.
  2. Electrical-Electronical Engineering (ITU, YTU, IU, etc).
  3. Experience at least 4 years in a similar organization.
  4. Experience in switchgears, power distribution, generators, transformers, UPSs, PDUs, chillers, AHU, CRAC, CRAH, fire detection and suppression systems.
  5. Coordination and organization ability, team-work approach.
  6. Fluent in English.
  7. GSM network/IT environment knowledge.
  8. Candidates with renewable energy and alternative energy knowledge preferred.
