Skin Path Solutions, an affiliate of Anne Arundel Dermatology is searching for a self-motivated, high-energy Histotechnician to join our growing practice.
ResponsibilitiesEssential job duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintain and utilize quality control procedures to verify accuracy of procedures and equipment.
- Process, embed, section, stain, and coverslip all tissue for routine and special stains as requested.
- Accurately and properly label tissue cassettes and slides with accession number for each patient.
- Accurately file all paraffin blocks and slides.
- Maintain the laboratory and immediate work area in a clean and organized manner.
- Perform and document quality control on equipment. Notify manager of equipment malfunction.
- Perform other specific duties that are assigned by the lab manager as required.
- Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
Experience: Must have two years of cutting at microtomy, with the ability to cut a minimum of 125 blocks in an 8-hour shift, three levels on the slides.
Licensure/Certifications/EducationEducation: HT(ASCP) registered or eligible OR completion of an Associates degree in Laboratory Science, required.
