We are looking for a "Safety Manager, Americas "to be assigned to our "Occupational Safety, Environment and Operational Excellence" department located in İstanbul HQ.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT?

  • Completed a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Possess NEBOSH, CSP, IOSH or equivalent international certificates.
  • Competent in ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards.
  • At least 7 years of experience in Occupational Safety management, process safety, fire safety and environment fields.
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance and leadership in multi-stakeholder and multi-cultural environments.
  • Expertise in risk assessment techniques such as HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA and LOPA.
  • Advanced proficiency in digital OHS tools, MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Experienced in Root Cause Analysis and incident investigations.
  • Having strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills and a proactive, analytical and solution-oriented approach.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English at a professional level (A second language is preferred).
  • Based in Istanbul but with flexible workplace and frequent travel requirements throughout the Americas, there is no obstacle for this position.

WHAT AWAITS YOU?

  • To carry out Occupational Safety management at strategic and operational levels in facilities in the American regions.
  • Developing region-specific Occupational Safety policies and procedures and aligning them with corporate standards and local requirements.
  • To integrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) requirements into Occupational Safety management strategies and develop projects in this direction.
  • To prepare annual Occupational Safety strategic and operational business plans, submit them to senior management for approval and carry out the actions in the plan with the allocated resources.
  • To ensure that all Occupational Safety activities comply with local/international legislation, standards and procedures.
  • To be informed about the legal regulations and country-specific requirements specific to the American regions and to follow the changes.
  • Ensuring that systems are up-to-date by integrating relevant changes into company procedures.
  • To analyze and control the safety impacts of operations on employees, contractors, suppliers, visitors and the environment.
  • Supervising risk management of critical equipment, creating and implementing safe maintenance procedures.
  • To investigate work accidents, conduct trend analysis and provide suggestions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and corporate requirements by regularly inspecting project areas, company activities and contractors.
  • To supervise the fulfillment of Occupational Safety Management Systems requirements and to plan preventive actions for detected non-conformities.
  • Organizing annual travel and inspection plans and monitoring the implementation of these plans.
  • To evaluate the applicability of Occupational Safety management systems by carrying out inspections and audit programs in the fields.
  • To increase awareness and competencies by designing and implementing region-specific Occupational Safety training programs for employees and stakeholders.
  • To identify training needs and include them in annual training plans and to ensure that training is carried out in line with resources.
  • Prioritizing behavioral safety and leadership training to improve the Occupational Safety culture.
  • To increase implementation capacity through scenario-based simulations by developing regional crisis management and emergency plans.
  • Investigating significant incidents and ensuring future incidents are prevented by recommending and implementing follow-up actions.
  • To increase preparedness capacity by organizing scenario-based exercises and simulations.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with KH Head office, local and regional regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders.
  • To define and analyze regional Occupational Safety performance metrics and report them to the central Occupational Safety Unit and regional senior management.
  • To offer continuous improvement suggestions by comparing the obtained data with industry standards.
  • To ensure the development of policies and procedures regarding Occupational Safety Management Systems and to monitor the practices.
  • To plan the annual budget for Occupational Safety activities, to make recommendations by checking the budgets in the center and facilities.
  • To ensure effective and efficient use of resources.
