Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager for a construction project to join our team in Central Asia, particularly in Tajikistan who has extensive experience in administering contracts and a deep understanding of FIDIC conditions of contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting contractual letters.
  • Issuing formal notices as required.
  • Assessing and evaluating contractor's time and cost claims and preparation of determinations.
  • Review and assess contractor-submitted change orders/variations.
  • Ensuring that the contractor is performing its obligations under the contract.
  • Review, interpret, and administer contracts.
  • Ensure all parties comply with contractual terms and obligations.
  • Monitor contractor's project performance and issue letters as necessary.
  • Support in reviewing contractor's interim payment applications and final accounts, and issuing associated certificates.
  • Verify contractor's compliance with payment terms (retention, milestones, etc.).
  • Support the client in preparing his payment applications that are to be invoiced to the end-user.
  • Advise the client on contractual rights and obligations.
  • Provide regular reports on contractual status, risks, and claims.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for contractual issues between client and contractor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable university.
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction sector, 7 years of which in contract administration.
  • Consultancy experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of construction contracts; specifically FIDIC Red Book- 1999 edition.
  • Project management knowledge.
  • Analytical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Good writing skills and a good command of the English language.
