Accountant- Middle East

Bausch + Lomb Turkey is seeking a skilled Accountant for its Shared Services Center in Istanbul, focusing on financial operations in the Middle East and Africa. This 1-year contract position will report to the Shared Services Center Accounting Manager and will play a key role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting financial reporting across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as Concur Finance Approver for T&E processing and payments, assisting with technical issues as a super user.
• Reconcile corporate credit card accounts and ensure timely payment processing.
• Handle AH Utilities payments and manage related transactions.
• Process monthly payroll and B2B reconciliation for direct and semi-direct employees.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting for people costs and headcount (HC).
• Manage Debit Notes related to employee costs and salaries (semi-direct).
• Review CAF Finance coding and account classifications per corporate guidelines.
• Perform monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for relevant accounts.
• Oversee cross-charging of HC and other costs across Business Units.
• Validate EOS templates, ensuring proper accruals for gratuity, bonuses, and employee-related provisions.
• Supervise subregion's Accounts Payables ensuring timely processing.
• Support treasury functions such as Cash Balance submissions, Collection Receipt Reports, and Bank Reconciliations.
• Prepare and upload payments, ensuring accurate posting in NAV and related bookkeeping.
• Assist with audit activities and collaborate with external auditors for documentations and queries.
• Contribute to various projects aimed at maintaining business continuity.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
• Generate weekly cash balance and cash flow forecasts, and provide timely updates on daily transactions.
• Manage trade finance documentation and validate import/export documents.
• Assist the Financial Manager with daily reporting and ad-hoc financial requests.
• Perform positive pay transactions and ensure timely compliance with bank requirements.
• Collaborate across departments to support business goals and improve departmental efficiencies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, payroll, or financial operations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payables, and treasury management.
• Proficiency in Concur Finance, SAP, and NAV is a plus.
• Solid understanding of financial reporting, IFRS, and GAAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in MEA region is a plus.
