Role Summary:

Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL)/Medical Advisor field-based physicians and scientists with in-depth knowledge of related therapeutic area, who provide an expert interface between J&J IM Medical and the external healthcare community on scientific topics. They help ensure the safe and effective use of Janssen medicines through appropriate scientific dialogue.

The role of the MSL is to provide a field-based medical service that puts the patient's needs at the centre of everything, building trust with healthcare professionals & use a two-way scientific dialogue to understand HCP needs and provide appropriate solutions in line with the Janssen's defined HCP engagement model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maximize the value of company products through high quality one-to-one scientific communication with leading experts.
  • Achieve the short-term and long-term goals of the company, jointly with other functions, by organizing activities in line with the Medical Department Plan.
  • Discuss assigned products & their trends in patient care and clinical studies in the therapeutic areas, with a community defined as LS (Leading Specialist: Physicians, Pharmacists, Hospital Directors, Board Members of Scientific Societies and other stakeholders).
  • Take an active role in dissemination of up-to-date scientific data on disease and products.
  • Work closely with company value teams (CVT) as members of the Medical Affairs department.
  • Contribute to the activities planned by CVTs, work for the realization of the medical plans, which are part of brand plans, in line with the company goals.
  • Gain insights about treatment modalities and scientific activities in the relevant therapeutic area through effective scientific interaction.
  • Develop/initiate professional and reliable relationships/communication based on scientific engagement with LSs and KOLs and ensure the continuity of this communication.
  • Provide and report the details of daily activities as well as specific interactions with LSs (reactive activities, Market Access Discussions, Clinical Trials, or other specific interactions with HCPs) in CRM system.
  • Contribute to planning and conduct of medical education activities and advisory committees, working in coordination with the medical manager in identifying the contents of medical education activities and establishing communication with the speaker/participant physicians.
  • Act in close collaboration primarily with the sales department and also other departments, sharing experiences and knowledge when necessary. Provide scientific, medical support to field employees when needed and give educational support in this respect.
  • Record insights from HCPs in company systems and forward them to concerned units to contribute to preparation of strategies.
  • Comply with HCBI, national and global ethical procedures in all activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree (Faculty of Medicine or Faculty of Pharmacy required).
  • Preferably experienced in a similar position in a pharmaceutical company.
  • Comprehensive medical knowledge.
  • Fluency in English & Turkish.
  • Good command of MS Office applications.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Investigative and creative.
  • Ability to plan, organize and analyse.
  • Professional communication & presentation skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently in an extensive and diffuse business scale.
  • Ability to travel.
