Genetics and Genomics Expert

We are a dynamic team at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada- Science and Technology Branch in Kentville, Nova Scotia, dedicated to advancing the field of molecular biology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research and development in molecular biology to support the Small Fruit Germplasm Development Program and Soil Health and Microbiome Program at AAFC Kentville Research and Development Centre.

• Conducting research and development in molecular biology to support program objectives
• Developing and implementing new laboratory techniques and methods
• Collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting results as required

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in a biological science
• Experience conducting molecular biology laboratory analyses including DNA isolation, molecular marker development, PCR genotyping, and qPCR analyses
• Experience in writing research reports and interpreting research findings
