The Job Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Risk and Controls Lead to join our GroupM Turkey team based in Istanbul. The ideal candidate will provide critical support in implementing and monitoring an effective local control framework aligned with Group requirements and a broad range of compliance activities. They will contribute to audits by coordinating issue discussion and remediation, all while navigating multiple priorities and a diverse range of local and regional stakeholders.

This demanding role requires a highly motivated individual who can think strategically about our business, develop practical and sustainable solutions to improve the control environment, and streamline and standardize processes, procedures, and controls.

You will oversee the GroupM Turkey R&C function in the Turkey market and report directly to both the Local GroupM Turkey CFO and EMEA Risk & Controls Director.

Key Deliverables:

  • Develop and promote a culture of ethics and integrity within the region through training, support, and advice on relevant topics, including anti-bribery and corruption, internal controls, and internal policy requirements.
  • Serve as a risk and controls subject matter expert/thought leader within the organization.
  • Drive change initiatives to achieve desired outcomes across the Region.
  • Maintain strong relationships within the team and collaborate effectively with colleagues across GroupM, WPP, and other Networks.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial, operational, and compliance controls across the Region in line with the WPP Internal Control framework, ensuring adherence to documentation and evidence standards.
  • Establish and manage effective ongoing quality review/control monitoring programs as a second line of defense.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, leveraging technology where possible, while remaining adaptable to changing circumstances and emerging opportunities.
