Job Description

Hogarth Worldwide Ltd is seeking a skilled Web Development Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

This position involves developing and modifying responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. based on visual briefs. The successful candidate will work on localizing pages by updating links, images, and text according to client coding standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop new digital assets as identified by supervisors and management.
  2. Modify existing code to accommodate for a locale – including changing image paths, server-side includes (SSI), file names, directories, other elements, and other development tasks.
  3. Ensure all work is performed according to the brief and minimum requirements for each client.
  4. Develop fast and efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
  5. Produce digital assets in several languages.
  6. Update and amend existing assets.
  7. Maintain client digital assets to the best of ability using clean, accessible mark-up according to latest web standards.
  8. Help and advise project managers with client's digital requests.
  9. Keep an eye on latest trends to help boost development efficiencies.
  10. Awareness of client's mobile platform with ability to build solutions that take advantage of latest operating system features while remaining performant on latest devices.
Requirements:
  • Living in Istanbul.
  • Minimum 2 years commercial development experience.
  • BA degree in computer science, MIS, or related experience with grasp on data structures and algorithms.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Minimum Upper Intermediate proficiency in English written and oral, due to nature of work.
  • Minimum Upper Intermediate proficiency in Arabic written and oral, due to nature of work.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Experience using Subversion (command-line).
  • Understanding of branch management.
  • Experience of working ticketing systems such as JIRA and how to break down tasks.
  • Knowledge of FE pre-processing (Sass and Browserify).
  • Expertise in web languages and standard technologies, including version control systems (SVN and GIT), repositories, and build tools (Grunt, Gulp).
  • Expertise in HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/JQuery.
  • Good JS debugging skills.
  • Responsive development experience.
  • Experience working with Front-End Frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation).
  • Image manipulation software (Photoshop, Fireworks) and able to slice elements out of PSD.
  • Accessible and SEO-based coding.
  • Self-starter who is able to hand-code front-end NOT using any WYSIWYG tools like Dreamweaver and keen to learn new technologies.
  • Clear understanding of Usability.
  • Proficient in developing to W3C Standards.
  • Knowledge of challenges of Email newsletter builds.
  • Progressive enhancement and graceful degradation.
  • Experience in working with Bash shell.
  • Experience with optimization for mobile devices and familiarity with responsive and adaptive methods.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to travel as required, sometimes for several weeks at a time.
