Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Investment Officer to join our Financial Institutions Group (FIG). The successful candidate will support the implementation of FIG's regional strategy, provide analytical research, business development, country and regional pipeline monitoring, internal and external communication, and other tasks as required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of banking, financial institutions, and related industry trends, with the ability to identify risks and opportunities.

• Support investment transactions from initiation to closure, including due diligence, internal approvals, and negotiations of debt and equity investments.

  ">

• Monitor market developments and provide insights on local business trends for IFC's regional activities.

  ">

• Assist in formulating regional strategies, preparing briefing materials, and contributing to partnerships with the World Bank Group and other stakeholders.

  ">

• Collaborate with the regional management team to manage projects, plan, and monitor deliverables/key performance indicators (KPIs).

  ">

• Participate in pipeline and portfolio review meetings to monitor progress and performance, address potential problems, and provide relevant industry data.

  ">

• Maintain working knowledge of current investment, advisory, and upstream operations of FIG and support the Regional Industry Head with management queries and oversight of upstream and advisory projects.

  ">

• Develop documents and reports for diverse audiences, including country strategies, business plan inputs, and work program agreements.

  ">

• Review documents/reports for strategic alignment and provide analytical support.

  ">

• Collaborate with country teams on joint initiatives with the World Bank and other development partners.

  ">

• Represent IFC at key private sector, public sector, donor, and World Bank events and meetings, ensuring dissemination of information to relevant staff within the World Bank Group.

• Contribute to project and program development, including market studies and client diagnostics, and design and implement sector and client-level engagements leading to future investments or supporting current clients.

  ">

• Conduct sector-specific data analysis and stress-testing of operating models to generate ideas for new projects, products, and platform businesses.

Selection Criteria:

• Master's degree in economics, finance, or a related field, with at least 5-6 years of relevant experience in the MCT region.

  ">

• Demonstrated knowledge of the region, including politics, history, social dynamics, culture, economics, local markets, and regulatory frameworks.

  ">

• Ability to read and anticipate shifts in market trends and their implications for IFC's current and future business.

  ">

• Strong attention to detail, thoughtful scenario analysis, and high-quality work product.

  ">

• Excellent active listening skills, diplomacy in interactions, and written and verbal communication abilities.

  ">

• Ability to distill and summarize large amounts of information to prepare business documents and presentations.

  ">

• Proficiency in utilizing charts, graphs, and presentation techniques to effectively communicate complex data and concepts.

  ">

• Team player with good problem-solving and analytical skills, able to execute tasks timely and effectively.

• Advanced user level proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Power BI.

  ">

• Fluency in Turkish and English is required, with additional languages being an advantage.
