Job Description

This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan for corporate affairs in Africa Middle East. The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  •   Identify key stakeholders and develop a strategic plan for engagement.
  •   Present Syngenta's position to governments and stakeholders to safeguard our business interests.
  • Policy Advocacy:
  •   Monitor political and economic developments and identify trends with implications for the business.
  •   Engage with stakeholders to advocate for or against policies affecting our business.
  • Sustainability Strategy:
  •   Develop and implement a local sustainability strategy for the Crop Protection business area, considering global and regional priorities, local stakeholder expectations, and local business strategy.
  •   Align sustainability strategy with local LTs and determine local governance processes and required collaboration processes with regulatory and marketing functions.
  • Partnerships and Community Engagement:
  •   Develop strategic partnerships with NGOs and value chain players, including farmers and food companies.
  •   Oversee effective community engagement across the region.
  • Stewardship:
  •   Provide stewardship advice to the business and distribution partners on the safe use of Syngenta's products.
  •   Coordinate stewardship reviews associated with new products and Chemical Product extensions.
  • Qualifications:
  •   A university-level degree in Communication, Political Science, International Affairs, Sustainability, or Human/Social/Natural Sciences.
  •   Proven team leadership experience and ability to manage cross-functional collaborations.
  •   Track record of successfully managing complex projects and change initiatives.
