About Our Client

The World Bank Board approved a loan for the greening of firms through equity financing, and expand climate financing in Türkiye's capital markets. The funds will be channeled by the Industrial Development Bank of Türkiye (TSKB) who will use them to partially capitalize TGFP. The TGFP will provide equity financing to greening companies. It will be managed by Maxis Private Equity Portfolio Management A.Ş. (Maxis), one of Türkiye's largest asset management companies and a Project Implementing Entity under the Project.

We are looking for a "Social Specialist" who will work within our client Maxis Private Equity Portfolio Management A.Ş. Company and support this process.

Job Description
  1. Manage social risks and impacts, gender, and social inclusion procedures and management plans.
  2. Provide social risk management services to the TGFP and its investee companies during the life of the Fund and ensure compliance with Turkish Legislation and international conventions.
  3. Support the establishment and implementation of the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) for TGFP consistent with the World Bank Environmental and Social Standard 9.
  4. Review environmental & social due diligence documents for potential investees, manage ESDD of proposed investee firms, and ensure Action Plans cover all possible gaps with Turkish Legislation and World Bank standards.
  5. Ensure TGFP and its investee companies' sub-projects are implemented in accordance with the World Bank's Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and all related environmental and social instruments.
  6. Conduct social screening of specific sub-projects to identify and address potential social impacts under applicable Investee Companies' ESMS and management plans.
  7. Oversee E&S consultants of the investee companies.
  8. Provide corrective actions to social monitoring findings and track corrective and preventive actions taken in response to audit/inspection findings.
  9. Follow up on gender actions defined in the project operational manual and train/guide Enterprises on these requirements.
  10. Ensure proper functioning of the Grievance Mechanisms (GMs) for project affected parties and project workers at both TGFP and investee company levels.
  11. Submit regular monitoring reports on project implementation progress regarding social issues to Maxis, TGFP, and TSKB.
  12. Report regularly to the World Bank on all aspects related to social standards and issues, including key project indicators.
  13. Ensure all environmental and social standards documents produced by consultants are accurate and comply with Turkish legislation and World Bank ESF.
  14. Keep abreast of relevant national social and resettlement legislation and inform Maxis's management of any regulatory changes.
The Successful Applicant
  1. Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences with significant professional experience in social impact assessment and stakeholder engagement.
  2. Minimum 4 years' general work experience in social impact assessment across various sectors (preferably renewable energy).
  3. At least 2 years of relevant work experience in social impact assessment for projects financed by international organizations, preferably the World Bank.
  4. Knowledge and proven experience in national environmental legislation and environmental/social policies of IFIs, preferably the World Bank.
  5. Proficiency in key computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  6. Fluency in written and oral English and Turkish is a must.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  8. Ability to synthesize and analyze diverse social data and information from various sources.
  9. Clear thinking with the ability to communicate key concerns and proposed solutions succinctly.
  10. Proven experience in effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  11. Willingness to travel frequently within and between the Project provinces.
