What You'll Do

We are seeking a commercially-minded Data Scientist to join our global team, designing and delivering solutions that are deployed across our banking and financial services clients. You will work with a variety of data sources to create, validate, and optimize AI and Machine Learning models that drive measurable business outcomes.

Your primary focus will be to serve as the Data Science business partner for Turkey, working closely with Sales, Professional Services, and customer stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions. You will ensure that models and insights are both technically robust and aligned with local market requirements, regulatory expectations, and business objectives.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to contribute to global projects as part of the wider Data Science team. This will include sharing best practices, collaborating on model development, and supporting initiatives in other markets when needed.

This is a remote role with approximately 20% travel is required to clients in Turkey, typically at critical points within the delivery, like project initiation and/or handover of the solution to the client.

Your Responsibilities

• Identify and source relevant data to build, calibrate and deploy state-of-the-art models using the latest AI/ML technologies and methods.
• Understand the problems of our clients, designing appropriate Data Science solutions that meet their business requirements.
• Partner with our Solutions Architects and Engineering teams to integrate ML and AI solutions within Provenir products.
• While working in a fast-paced environment, interpret, document and successfully communicate solutions to stakeholders, including those in non-technical and senior management roles.
• Provide expert input into future analytical strategies and product development
• Contribute towards the commercial success and revenue generation
• Provide technical guidance to the Sales, Pre-Sales and Professional Services on commercial Data Science opportunities across Turkey and the rest of the world.

Your Strengths and Skills

• You have a minimum of 7 years experience in a data science role, including hands-on experience in developing supervised and unsupervised advanced machine learning algorithms.
• You have strong data wrangling and manipulation skills for merging, cleansing, and sampling data
• You have domain experience in Fraud, Credit Risk Management or Marketing analytics.
• You have banking and/or Financial Services experience.
• You actively participate in team meetings and can clearly and concisely articulate.
• You will take initiative, learn quickly and are able to adapt to shifting priorities.

Although not essential, it would be great if you also have any of these strengths,

• You have B2B client-facing experience, where you can talk confidently about data and AI.
• You have good knowledge of data and banking regulations (e.g. BDDK, KVKK, etc)
• You follow best practices across the MLOps lifecycle (e.g. CI/CD, pipeline orchestration and containerization).

Interview Process

• The interview process would typically be structured as follows:
• Initial chat. This will be with a member of our recruitment team to get a better understanding of your current situation, what you are looking for and any questions you may have.
• Technical Challenge. This is a take home task where you will solve a typical Data Science problem in your own time. It will give you an insight into the exciting problems we solve.
• Technical Interview. This will be with two data scientists from the global team and primarily consist of technical questions.
• Local Team Interview. This will be with Sales Executive and Solutions Architect based in Turkey, and cover mostly business and behavioural competencies.
