Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a qualified and experienced legal counsel to join the
SunExpress Legal Team at our Headquarters in Antalya.
This role requires strong experience in commercial legal matters, particularly in contract negotiation and drafting, with experience in aviation law being preferred. The ideal candidate is a commercially minded legal professional with the ability to align legal strategies with business objectives and provide strategic guidance in a fast-paced international environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in law from a reputable university; holding a valid license to practice law in Turkey and membership in a Bar Association.
• Master's degree (LL.M.) is a strong plus, ideally with a specialization in international or commercial law.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant legal experience
  , preferably gained in an international law firm or the legal department of a multinational company.
• Strong knowledge of international commercial law is required, and preferred background includes aviation law, particularly in the context of aircraft leasing and financing.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English;
  ability to draft and negotiate legal documents in English is mandatory.
• Proficiency in German is an advantage.
• High level of professionalism, strong analytical skills, and business acumen.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness and ability to travel when required.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and aviation-related contracts, including, without limitation, aircraft and engine maintenance, supply agreements and spare parts agreements, as well as other related commercial contracts in the aviation sector.
• Provide legal advice and risk assessments on matters related to commercial law, aviation law, and corporate governance.
• Support the company's aircraft and engine transactions, including financing, leasing, and procurement.
• Prepare and manage corporate documentation including board resolutions and general assembly minutes.
• Oversee international disputes and coordinate with external counsel when litigation or arbitration arises.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute legal insight into corporate projects and initiatives.
• Draft legal notices and memoranda.
• Assist and report directly to his/her superior.
• Fulfill all other duties assigned by her/his superior.
