Job Description:

In Saudi Arabia, Mapa is seeking an "Accounting Chief" to join our dynamic team
on-site.
As an "Accounting Chief", you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations

and leading a team of accountants. Your primary focus will be to ensure the accuracy and

completeness of financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient financial

reporting. Timely and accurate filing of VAT and corporate tax returns based on effective financial

reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Accounting Team:
    Manage and provide guidance to a team of accountants, including task assignment, performance evaluation, and professional development.
  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets in accordance with Saudi Arabian accounting regulations and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • General Ledger Maintenance:
    Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, including reconciling accounts, journal entries, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Compliance:
    Stay current with Saudi Arabian accounting laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements. Preparation of VAT and corporate tax returns.
  • Financial Analysis:
    Conduct variance analysis, cost analysis, and financial forecasting to support decision-making processes.
  • Auditing:
    Assist in both internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as required.
  • Process Improvement:
    Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, increase efficiency, and maintain data integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Experience:
    A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an Accounting Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Financial Acumen:
    Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian accounting regulations and IFRS.
  • Communication:
    Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Language:
    Fluent in English and Arabic is preferred.
  • Analytical Skills:
    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to generate valuable financial insights.
  • Technology Proficiency:
    Knowledge of SAP or good knowledge of ERP systems.
