This role offers the chance to work on significant local and international projects, developing your expertise in road and highway design within a collaborative, technically ambitious team. As a Civil Engineer At Arup, You Will
• Design and develop conceptual and construction designs for road, street, and cycleway projects, including geometric design and drainage design of highways and streets.
• Review and assure drawings, reports, calculations, bills of quantities (BOQs), and specifications to ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality standards.
• Prepare bid documents for high-profile projects, managing competing priorities and maintaining output quality throughout.
• Co-ordinate across disciplines, working with multidisciplinary project teams and external consultants, managing interfaces effectively to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Build relationships with internal and external clients across the project lifecycle, acting as a trusted point of contact for your workstreams. Does this role inspire you? Education:
A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification and demonstrated experience in transportation infrastructure design.

Experience:
3+ years’ experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on the design and delivery of road, highway, or street projects across a range of scales, from early-stage concept through to construction.
• Technical proficiency: Working knowledge of MS Office and CAD applications including AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, OpenRail, or OpenRoads.
• Communication: Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken), including the ability to produce clear, concise technical reports and correspondence.
• Delivery and co-ordination: You manage your workload methodically across concurrent tasks, maintain accuracy and quality under deadline pressure, and communicate clearly with clients, consultants, and project team members across disciplines.
