Digital Twin & City Simulation Specialist 🚀 Ever wanted to build a city, not just in a game, but one that actually helps real places work better? We're looking for someone who knows their way around GIS and city data, gets excited by simulation, and can keep a complex project moving from idea to delivery. At Placemaking AI, you'll join our Ankara team to help lead PAI map development. You'll work directly with our leadership team to turn layers of urban data into living, interactive models of how cities move, grow and change, bringing a bit of game-world thinking to real-world urban problems. 📍

Position Summary You'll be a core member of the PAI technical team, combining hands-on technical work in GIS and city simulation with day-to-day project coordination. This role sits at the intersection of urban data, digital twins and interactive experiences, and gives you real ownership over how the project takes shape. 📊

Key Responsibilities
• Plan and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables, keeping the team and stakeholders aligned.
• Build, maintain and improve city digital twin models using GIS and spatial data.
• Source, clean and integrate city datasets such as mobility, demographics, land use, buildings and points of interest (POI).
• Design and run city simulations to test scenarios and explore how changes affect people and places.
• Explore how game engines and game design thinking (e.g. Unity, Unreal, interactive scenarios) can make simulations more engaging and easier to understand.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients and external partners, and turn meetings into clear action items.
• Prepare clear visuals, demos and reports that explain complex urban data to non-technical audiences.
• Use AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to speed up data work, documentation and prototyping. 💡 What You'll Gain:

Qualifications:
• 1–2 years of experience working with city digital twins, GIS, urban analytics, or a closely related area.
• Solid project management

experience:
you can plan work, track deadlines and keep multiple stakeholders on the same page.
• Solid hands-on skills with GIS tools (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS) and working with spatial and city data.
• Experience with or strong interest in city simulation and modelling.
• A genuine interest in games, game engines or interactive simulation is a plus.
• A degree in Urban Planning, Geomatics, Geography, Computer Science, Architecture or a related field.
• A Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
• Experience with Python, spatial databases (e.g. PostGIS) or 3D city formats (e.g. CityGML) is a plus.
• Strong spoken and written communication in Turkish and English.
• Based in Ankara and able to work from our office on agreed days. 📋 Our Hiring Process:
