Role Description This contractor role as an Electrical / Automation / Control Systems Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) can be based anywhere. The role involves planning, configuring, and commissioning electrical, automation, and control systems for industrial process optimization projects. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and testing sensor hardware and software, performing system integrations, and validating process control performance at customer sites. The engineer will diagnose and resolve technical issues, optimize system parameters, and document configurations and test results. Collaboration with project managers, software developers, and customer technical teams is essential to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient system operation, along with providing training and support to end users during and after commissioning. Qualifications
• Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and Systems Engineering, with practical experience in industrial environments / cement plants.
• Proficiency in Process Control and Control Systems Design, including PLCs, SCADA/DCS, and OPC (UA) industrial communication protocols.
• Demonstrated ability in Troubleshooting complex electrical and automation systems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Relevant technical degree or apprenticeship in electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations for industrial installations and commissioning activities.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work on-site with cross-functional and customer teams.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed and work hands-on with equipment and processes.
• Experience with industrial process optimization, sensors, and control technologies is an advantage.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills (e.g., German) are beneficial.
