Position Overview

As a Server Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing the server infrastructure that powers our cryptocurrency exchange. Your expertise will directly contribute to the platform's stability, scalability, and security, ensuring an exceptional user experience for traders worldwide.

RELOCATION TO TIRANA / ALBANIA IS MANDATORY

Fluency in English is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Server Architecture and Management:
  • Design and deploy scalable, fault-tolerant server architectures for high availability.
  • Manage Linux-based servers (primarily CentOS and Ubuntu) for hosting the Python-based backend.
  • Implement and maintain virtualization and containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Performance Optimization:
  • Monitor and tune server performance to handle high-frequency trading and large transaction volumes.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, ensuring low latency and high throughput.
Security and Compliance:
  • Implement server-level security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and patch management.
  • Apply encryption protocols (SSL/TLS) to secure data in transit and at rest.
  • Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Maintenance and Monitoring:
  • Set up monitoring tools to track server health, performance metrics, and uptime.
  • Automate routine maintenance tasks such as backups, updates, and log management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues promptly.
  • Work closely with DevOps and backend engineering teams to support development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with blockchain engineers to ensure seamless integration with wallet nodes and blockchain APIs.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, processes, and incident reports.
  • Provide regular updates on server health and performance to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Technical Skills:

  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in managing Linux-based servers (CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Server Technologies: Experience with Nginx, Apache, and load balancers.
  • Scripting: Strong skills in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages for automation.
  • Containerization: Proficiency in Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Virtualization: Knowledge of virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix.
  • Security: Expertise in implementing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.
  • Database Management: Familiarity with database servers (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) in a production environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Familiarity with blockchain nodes and cryptocurrency protocols.
  • Knowledge of message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
  • Experience in high-frequency trading or financial systems.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in server engineering or related roles.
  • Proven track record of managing servers for large-scale, high-traffic applications.
  • Experience in the cryptocurrency or fintech industry is a plus.
