The Opportunity

Play a key role in shaping sustainable and energy-efficient solutions by joining our Sustainability Team as an Industrial Energy Auditor Your expertise will directly influence the transition to greener buildings and corporate sustainability practices, making a tangible difference in combating climate change.

You'll have the chance to contribute to designing nearly zero-emission buildings (NZEB).

Drive innovation in energy efficiency and collaborate on impactful policies at city and national levels.

As an Industrial Energy Auditor at Arup, you will:

  1. Work closely with multidisciplinary design teams to help building designs be energy efficient at the concept design stage.
  2. Develop sustainability policies and capacity assessments for municipalities and ministries.
  3. Able to audit mechanical and electrical equipment in commercial and industrial facilities, develop ECMs (energy conservation measures) and calculate the energy and cost savings associated with each ECM.
  4. Develop 2050 zero-emission pathways for buildings or building portfolios.
  5. Stay up to date with Türkiye, EU, and global energy/resource efficiency policies.
  6. Provide sustainable building certification consultancy (LEED, BREEAM, or DGNB).
  7. Conduct commercial and preferably industrial building energy audits (detailed and preliminary).

We're looking for someone who is passionate about advancing energy efficiency and sustainable building design. We also value:

  1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  2. Energy auditor and preferably energy manager certifications from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (Certified Energy Auditor - CEA and Certified Energy Manager - CEM).
  3. Excellent command of both Turkish and English.
  4. At least 5 years' experience in a combination of the following responsibilities:
    -(building) mechanical designer
    -energy auditor
    -certified measurement and verification expert (mechanical and electrical systems)
    -resident engineer in mechanical installation projects
    -technical engineer working in sustainability, decarbonization, or climate change projects.
  5. Have a driver's license.
  6. No travel restrictions (national & internationally).
  7. No military obligation for male candidates.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. LEED AP (Accredited Professional) or GA (Green Associate) certification.
  2. BREEAM Assessor or AP certification.
  3. Competency in OpenStudio (EnergyPlus) building energy modeling software.
  4. Competency in IESVE building energy modeling software.
  5. Building Energy Modeling Professional Certification (BEMP).
  6. Certified Measurement and Verification Professional.
  7. Knowledge or competence in building life-cycle assessment.
  8. Knowledge of embodied carbon in buildings.
  9. Knowledge of solar power, biomass, and deep geothermal (renewables).
  10. Experience working in global firms, projects funded by IFIs, and working with municipalities and ministries is a plus.
  11. Experience leading a measurement campaign for an energy retrofit project is a plus.
