At SWOT Hospitality, we are seeking a skilled Sommelier to oversee our wine menu and provide exceptional recommendations on pairings. This role involves supervising wine serving, collaborating with winemakers to upgrade selections, and offering wine pairing suggestions to guests.

Responsibilities:
  1. Developing and updating wine lists in collaboration with the culinary team and manager.
  2. Making informed recommendations on food and wine pairings to enhance the guest experience.
  3. Ensuring the wine cellar is fully stocked and organized.
  4. Informing guests about the variety of wines available and their characteristics.
  5. Providing training to wait staff on available wines and their service guidelines.
  6. Negotiating prices with wine vendors.
  7. Organizing wine tasting events to promote our wine offerings.
  8. Complying with health and safety regulations in the wine service area.
Requirements:
  • Certification as a sommelier or a degree in hospitality is beneficial.
  • Previous experience as a sommelier, wine steward, or in a related hospitality role.
  • Extensive knowledge of wines, including different types and regions.
  • Familiarity with local vineyards and wineries.
  • An understanding of the wine making process and its application in the industry.
  • Availability to work long hours, weekends, and travel when required.
