Job Description
As a Programme Manager for the Biodiversity Finance Initiative, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the programme, providing strategic leadership and technical guidance to the team, and building partnerships with stakeholders to achieve programme objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the programme strategy, setting clear objectives and priorities for the team
- Lead the team in the development of programme deliverables, including reports, briefs, and knowledge products
- Build and maintain partnerships with financial, technical, and political partners to achieve programme objectives
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality results
- Develop and manage the programme budget, ensuring effective use of resources and compliance with UNDP policies and procedures
- Monitor and evaluate programme progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed
Requirements:
- Advanced university degree in public finance, economics, environmental economics, public or business administration, natural/environmental sciences, human geography, or social sciences
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in environmental management and/or biodiversity conservation, environmental finance, development finance, environmental economics, or other relevant field
- At least 3 years of professional experience working in developing countries on internationally financed environment/development programmes/projects
- Proven track record of managing teams, inspiring and mentoring staff, facilitating their capacity development, and resolving conflicts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions
