RINA Piraeus Team is seeking a highly skilled Marine Surveyor Specialist to join its team in Istanbul within the Marine South East Europe & MEA Region Division.

Mission

The Senior Surveyor serves as a seasoned and highly knowledgeable professional within the organization, applying expertise in maritime Rules, Regulations, and industry principles. The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Professional Specialist:
    Acts as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts. Keeps abreast of new developments and recommends changes to surveying processes and safety programs.
  2. Inspection and Reporting:
    Conducts routine surveys on classed ships, platforms, or marine structures to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements. Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys.
  3. File Maintenance:
    Maintains survey files in an organized and up-to-date manner within the designated area of responsibility.
  4. Leadership and Coordination:
    Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work. Monitors the quality of service, providing leadership and guidance to lower-level and less experienced surveyors.
  5. Client Interaction:
    Engages with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise. Ensures client satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues.
  6. Training and Development:
    Provides leadership, guidance, and training to lower-level and less experienced surveyors. Contributes to the development and improvement of the skills and knowledge of the surveying team.
  7. Quality Assurance:
    Monitors work and projects performed by subordinate surveyors, ensuring the maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed.
  8. Problem Resolution and Innovation:
    Recommends new approaches to problems encountered and initiates changes in working methods and procedures as necessary. Actively contributes to the development and enhancement of surveying practices.
  9. Ethical Conduct:
    Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes.
Education Requirements

A Master's Degree in Naval Engineering is required for this position.

Qualifications and Experience
  1. A minimum of 3 years experience working as a Surveyor is required.
  2. Understanding of RINA strategic technical positioning in the sector of the marine industry or a minimum of 7 years' experience in the engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society is required.
  3. Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services and before assignment, with their future work is required.
  4. Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy is required.
  5. Ability to understand engineering plans and have a knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations is required.
  6. Ability to perform new building surveys is required.
  7. Ability to perform ship in service surveys is required.
  8. Knowledge of ship engineering systems and machinery is required.
  9. Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities is required.
  10. Knowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work is required.
