Technical Skills

Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning

  • Experience with constraint satisfaction problems (CSP) and optimization algorithms for spatial layout generation
  • Knowledge of reinforcement learning techniques for interactive environment design and adaptive systems
  • Familiarity with constraint-based planning and heuristic search algorithms
  • Understanding of multi-objective optimization for balancing aesthetic and functional requirements

Procedural Generation & Algorithms

  • Deep knowledge of procedural generation techniques, including L-systems, grammar-based systems, and noise functions (Perlin, Simplex, Worley)
  • Experience with spatial reasoning and geometric algorithms for placement and navigation
  • Proficiency in graph-based algorithms for connectivity and pathfinding in environments
  • Understanding of rule-based systems and generative design patterns

3D Graphics & Rendering

  • Strong experience with 3D graphics pipelines and scene graph management
  • Knowledge of common 3D engines (Unity, Unreal Engine) and their rendering architectures
  • Familiarity with mesh manipulation, LOD systems, and optimization techniques
  • Understanding of material systems, lighting, and shader programming basics

Software Development

  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for AI system development
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Strong debugging and profiling skills for performance-critical applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with architectural or urban planning algorithms
  • Knowledge of parametric design and generative modeling tools (Houdini, Grasshopper)
  • Familiarity with game AI systems (behavior trees, navigation meshes, crowd simulation)
  • Understanding of physics simulation for realistic environment interactions
  • Portfolio demonstrating procedurally generated 3D environments or AI-driven design systems

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and algorithmic thinking
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with 3D artists and level designers
  • Good communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members
  • Self-motivated with the ability to research and implement novel solutions
