Gallery Director

ISTANBUL'74 is looking for a
Gallery Director (Arts & Culture)
to join our team.

This position would be suited to someone who has
previous managerial experience within a contemporary gallery or an arts& culture institution
with extensive knowledge of the art market.
Minimum 10+ years of experience is required.

Responsibilities include:

· Overseeing the smooth running of all ISTANBUL'74's international arts & culture projects, IST.FEST and gallery operations.

· Managing all ISTANBUL'74 projects, from concept through completion, including IST.FEST, gallery exhibitions, artist collaborations and pop up events.

· Managing the communications with all the parties that are involved in all projects.

· Managing the artist liaison tasks.

· Managing all the phases of the exhibition processes, from the idea level to execution, sales, and the logistics operations.

· Overseeing festival and exhibition details including creative programming, sponsorships, trafficking print materials through the design and print process, catering, entertainment, transportation, venue, guest list management, management of VIP guests, equipment rental, etc.

· Working on marketing and publicity strategies to bring success to all ISTANBUL'74 projects.

· Developing and managing each event's unique budget and timeline.

· Provide pre-and post-event financial reports to leadership.

· Developing and maintaining relationships with an extensive list of collectors and clients.

· Negotiating vendor contracts for all projects.

· Managing the ISTANBUL'74's online merchandising activities and sales operations.

Skills required:

Minimum 10+ years of experience

· Bachelor's degree in a related field.

· Long-term experience within a managerial level position in a fine art organization is essential.

· Great knowledge of current art market.

· Previous experience coordinating art festivals/exhibitions.

· Experience in online sales operations.

· Fantastic communication skills

· Strong business development skills and ability to close deals.

· Excellent time management and communication skills.

· Excellent written and oral interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism necessary

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Computer skills with intensive knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint

· Stress tolerance

· Ability to work both corporate hours plus event hours, inclusive of evenings and weekends
