Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on
Cost Control Team Lead / Supervisor
to own cost discipline across mining operations and lead the site cost control routine. The role drives
OPEX/CAPEX tracking
,
unit-cost & KPI analysis
,
Budget vs Actual (BvA)
commentary, and
P2P→ERP
cost accuracy—turning operational data into clear, actionable insights for site leadership and HQ.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the cadence:
    Set monthly timelines, enforce templates/standards, review site submissions, and present results to management.
  • Cost & KPIs:
    Track costs by
    cost center
    for open-pit/underground, process plant, and auxiliaries (fuel, emulsion, tyres, water plant, workshops, camp); monitor
    unit costs
    and operational KPIs, flagging efficiency opportunities.
  • BvA & actions:
    Deliver monthly
    BvA packs
    with variance bridges (price/volume/mix), root-cause analysis, and corrective-action plans; follow up with owners.
  • Budget/Forecast:
    Coordinate annual budget inputs and rolling forecasts; run scenarios/sensitivities and maintain driver assumptions.
  • P2P→ERP integrity:
    Reconcile
    PO–Contract–GRN–Invoice
    flows; ensure correct
    GL, cost center, activity/tax
    coding; maintain visibility of
    commitments & accruals
    .
  • Closing support:
    Oversee month-end (accruals, reclasses), inventory & fixed-asset checks, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Controls & audit:
    Maintain documentation/definitions; ensure
    audit-ready
    files and compliance with internal controls.
  • Cross-functional drive:
    Partner daily with
    Production, Maintenance, Warehouse/Logistics, Procurement, and HSE
    to secure complete, timely data and execute actions.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Industrial Engineering
    (or related).
  • 5–8+ years
    in
    cost/operations finance
    within
    mining, construction, or manufacturing/industrial
    companies.
  • Strong command of
    cost accounting
    ,
    BvA variance analysis
    ,
    cost-center
    structures, and budgeting cycles.
  • Proficiency with
    ERP
    (SAP / Microsoft Dynamics / Oracle / Logo) and
    advanced Excel
    (pivots, lookups, basic modeling).
  • Proven ability to
    lead reporting cycles
    , review others' work, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Fluent English
    (written and spoken).
  • Comfortable working in a
    site-based, fast-paced
    environment with travel across Liberia.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working proficiency in French
    (advantage for West/North Africa interfaces).
  • Experience in West Africa and/or multi-site operations.
  • Exposure to
    CAPEX project control
    , inventory & fixed-asset processes.
  • Big Four
    or multinational, multi-entity background.
  • Familiarity with
    unit-cost frameworks
    , scenario analysis, and concise dashboarding in
    Excel/PowerPoint
