Hitachi Energy is currently looking for a Hub Quality Specialist for the Transformers Business to join their team in Vadodara, India. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual.

The ability to multitask and deliver within timelines is crucial, along with excellent communication skills.

Mission Statement:

Business Process Quality work focuses on developing, identifying, analyzing, and improving existing general business processes (i.e., back-end processes not related to manufacturing) including: applying process definition, improvement, and design methodologies to identify, analyze and improve business processes to improve quality, reduce costs, increase efficiencies/productivity, and increase customer satisfaction. This includes developing documentation to support analysis and improvement, such as business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, and gap/problem analysis. Planning and implementing quality assurance and compliance processes are also key responsibilities. In some organizations, this may include supporting the development of training and/or change management materials and activities to support new processes and procedures, including Six Sigma/Lean/Kaizen practitioners working in a non-manufacturing environment. A Specialist Professional (P4) is a recognized subject matter expert in the job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities typically include managing large projects or processes with limited oversight from a manager, coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower-level professionals. Problems faced are often difficult and complex.

Your responsibilities:

  • Perform Quality System audits and use quality data analytics from all parts of the operation to identify risks, failures, and non-conformances within local operations, suppliers, and customers. Assist in the application of appropriate corrective and preventive actions and manage solutions to closure.
  • Lead and execute specifically assigned projects (RCAs, problem solving, failure analysis, deployment of new initiatives, audits, etc.) related to various product lines and factories within the Hub.
  • Responsible for data collection, KPI analytics, knowledge sharing, training, and coaching within the Hub.
  • Ensure implementation of effective internal controls to verify that processes meet customer and stakeholder requirements. Validate that control plans are applied and effective in mitigating known risks.
  • Represent the voice of the customer within local teams, challenging the teams with customer experience feedback and input to decisions.
  • Enable and coach employees to evaluate risks, problems, and solutions from the customer/stakeholder point of view.
  • Provide quality training to local teams, enabling them to define and document processes that are efficient and under control.

Your background:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 12+ years of experience in Quality/Operations in the engineering industry, or 12+ years of experience in quality/operations/engineering functions in the transformer industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, and energize cross-functional teams across multiple sites with good leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with internal customers at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and systemic problem-solving skills with a clear passion to develop and change self and others.
  • Open to travel to various transformer factories in the APMEA Hub.
  • Previous experience in lean six sigma methodologies, green belt/black belt certification.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
