We are looking for a Ice Cream Regional Nutritionist who will act as a key business partner, within the broader R&D team in METSA region, to provide sound, evidence-based input into strategic growth plans, innovation, and renovation projects, as well as represent Unilever externally via engagement with key opinion leaders, policy makers, customers and consumers. The role will support the Nutrition and Health agenda for METSA (Turkey, Middle East, India, Pakistan, Israel and South Africa) and support the core portfolio of ice cream products.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the IC Nutrition agenda for METSA region, by identifying and implementing localised nutrition strategy for the regional portfolio. Highlight opportunities in the nutrition and health environment that complement the country/business strategy.
  • Monitor and advise business leaders on emerging science, public health policy, consumer and media pressures and health & wellness trends, in order to influence business/brand strategy & decision making.
  • Develop nutrition guidance that is customised to Unilever brands/portfolio to support innovation and renovation, whilst upholding global Unilever D&H metrics and goals. Incorporate local considerations of dietary needs and food habits, nutrient intakes and shortfalls, product composition and dietary trends.
  • Translate nutrition science into compelling communication and claims. Adapt and localise regional/global messages to suit local requirements. Develop credible communication about our products and recipes, to drive growth and support the role of our products in a healthy, sustainable diet.
  • Build strong relationships with D&H counterparts and seek opportunities to work together on materials for employee education, stakeholder engagement and advocacy. Actively share insights and learnings with relevant global teams to help deliver the D&H programme.
  • Implement effective engagement plans to enhance the visibility of the D&H role amongst employees and business partners, as well as provide education to teams on key D&H topics.
  • Evaluate and monitor the nutritional quality of Unilever products, using objective criteria, to promote and defend the role they play in a balanced diet.
  • Represent Unilever in professional forums to elevate our portfolio and to protect and enhance the company reputation.
  • Support Regional Nutrition Manager on topics such as front-of-pack labelling, responsible marketing practices, nutrition and health claims, product reformulation, voluntary initiatives and pledges, and sustainable food practices.
  • Support Regional Nutrition Manager in topics of her responsibility, if required.
Experiences & Qualifications
  • Bachelor or MSC degree in nutrition-related discipline.
  • Experience in nutrition/ health education and communication.
  • Good understanding/appreciation of health and nutrition landscape.
  • Fluent in English, in spoken and written form.
  • Preferably member of Turkish Dieticians Association.
