What You Will Be Doing As A Project Management Lead

The core focus of this role is to implement project management methodologies, tools, and standards in the factories across the market to achieve planned product and technical results within time and budget and to provide technical leadership and oversight for the execution of allocated CAPEX at market level in collaboration with the respective factories in the area.

This will be done through the following activities:

  • Support the technical and industrial leadership in executing the project portfolio in the market, delivering projects on time and on budget, within expected technical specifications.
  • Work with project teams in the countries to deliver projects on time and budget and to distribute lessons learned across the market.
  • Lead the CAPEX planning process for the market together with the industrial director and plant managers, reviewing and prioritizing projects.
  • Evaluate project applications from a technical perspective and business need.
  • Manage the stage-gate development process as required.
  • Cascade and implement minimum standards/engineering standards for facilities, ensuring global technical standards are available and used in the region.
  • Embed other Bunge standards and procedures early in projects: product safety, hygiene, environmental aspects, etc.
  • Participate in supplier selection with purchasing and business areas in specific countries.
  • Master the utilization of Genius/PPM and enforce its use for consistent and accurate reporting on project approval flows and implementation.
  • Periodically report the progress on the status of main projects.
  • Monitor project life cycles and proactively assist facilities not meeting established improvement goals.
  • Build project management competence in the market; train and develop project teams.

The position can be based in Romania, Hungary, or Turkey, and will have two reporting lines: direct to our Director of Industrial Operations based in Budapest and Functional Reporting to our Director, Engineering and CAPEX Projects Europe, based in Barcelona.

What do we expect from our future colleague?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Agricultural related engineering preferred.
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years engineering experience with at least 5 years of experience managing others.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in oils chemistry, engineering, and operations.
  • 5 years' experience in management of major engineering/construction projects including estimating, scheduling, and cost control; experience in oilseeds handling and processing is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of safety, environmental, sustainability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of the Total Cost of Ownership Concepts.
  • General understanding of business performance indicators such as WACC, RONA, and project economics.
  • Must possess a demonstrated high degree of tact in dealing with plant staff and craft personnel.
  • The ability to gain support from various stakeholders for ideas, proposals, and solutions, as well as develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization.
