PURPOSE OF POSITION
To assist the IT Supervisor in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all computer systems and data communications activities in the hotel. To handle day-to-day IT operations and to provide first-level support for PMS, POS, guests, and hotel office users.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Familiar with all the systems Opera, Micros, Windows Servers, and all Windows client operating systems.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP.
  • Backup and optimizing databases.
  • Knowledge of LAN, WAN, and structural cabling.
  • Perform regular system health checks and capacity studies to ensure optimum performance of servers and networks.
  • Provide frontline PC and server troubleshooting.
  • Experience in managing systems and networks.
  • Provide in-house guest IT-related troubleshooting and practice proactive support by maintaining services at 100% availability.
  • Support all IT-related issues in the company.
  • Experience in dealing with vendors and users at all levels.
  • Coordinate, introduce, implement, and continuously manage best practices of Information Technology and telecommunications.
  • Ensure IT standards and best practices are communicated, implemented, and measured.
  • Ensure backup operations, review backup logs, send backup media off-site periodically, and log them.
  • Coordinate and manage projects.
  • Oversee project work and ensure on-time completion.
  • Document project progress.
  • Ensure that IT actively contributes to cost-saving and revenue-generating strategies.
  • Support the business in preparing contingency plans and coordinate regular testing.
  • Supervise and support the activity of the IT Butlers.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Must have knowledge of cabling, computer networking equipment and operating systems, personal computer and server hardware, data communications equipment and protocols, and office administration applications.
  • Must be able to assist hotel guests with technical requirements and problems and train users with varying degrees of computer knowledge.
  • Sound computer knowledge in Opera System, MICROS, and MS Office applications.
  • Must have strong project planning skills.
  • Pleasant personality with neat appearance.
  • Displays initiative and is guest/people-oriented.
  • Proactive and requires minimum supervision.
  • Flexible and adaptable to different working locations.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Oral and written fluency in English.
  • Team player.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally should have a diploma in IT.
  • Ideally should have a certificate in Project Management, Cisco, and Microsoft Admin certification.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience.
