Avesoro is a leading mining company committed to sustainable and safe mining operations. We are looking for a dedicated H&S Underground Supervisor (Liberia) to join our team and ensure a secure working environment in our underground gold mining operations in Liberia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in underground gold mining operations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety procedures to minimize risks and hazards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain a high standard of workplace safety.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on safety protocols and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve overall safety performance.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, providing detailed reports and corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in underground gold mining health and safety departments. Familiarity with safe working systems and underground mining safety protocols.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of underground safety regulations and best practices. Ability to assess and mitigate workplace hazards effectively. Experience with accident investigation and risk assessment processes.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with various teams. Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Additional Requirements: Minimum A2 level English proficiency (can be described as "intermediate" in the job posting, but it is actually at the beginner level). Willingness to work in an underground gold mining environment in Liberia. Ability to work in a physically demanding setting. Commitment to upholding high safety standards.
