Mobile Fleet Technician

The primary responsibility of a Mobile Service Technician is to maintain the company's fleet and handle service calls at client locations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide top-notch service while interacting with clients.

• Maintain equipment according to company standards.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil checks, cleaning, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and ensure it remains properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and receive daily assignments.
• Avoid rush-hour traffic by being available for after-hours service calls and having an open work schedule.
• Inventorize supplied tools required for maintaining diesel engine trucks and associated equipment.
• Analyze job orders and observe vehicles in operation to diagnose malfunctions and plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify issues and perform correct repair procedures.
• Diagnose and replace faulty parts such as injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, and transmissions.
• Document all diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks and make necessary adjustments.
• Lubricate moving parts and test repaired vehicles to ensure they meet specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance work as requested.
• Accurately document and submit paperwork or enter mobile service programs in a timely manner.
• Address customer inquiries regarding work performed and foster positive relationships.
• Recommend additional repairs or services that should be performed within the next three months.
• Participate in training sessions and apply knowledge gained during the course of work.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Holding a valid CDL and Medical card as required by FMVS.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and technical expertise.
