Job Purpose
To ensure all electrical and instrumentation installations, including explosion-proof equipment in hazardous areas, comply with international standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical & Instrumentation Inspection:
- Inspect installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems (cables, terminations, control panels, instruments).
- Verify compliance with IEC, ATEX, API, and project-specific standards.
- Review QA/QC procedures, method statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Witness FAT/SAT for electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Prepare inspection reports and address non-conformance issues.
CompEx Inspection (Hazardous Areas):
- Inspect Ex-certified equipment installations in Zone 0, 1, and 2 areas.
- Verify compliance with IEC 60079 series and hazardous area classification.
- Conduct periodic maintenance and inspection of Ex equipment.
- Maintain detailed inspection records and certification documentation.
- Ensure proper tagging and traceability of Ex equipment.
General Duties:
- Liaise with EPC contractors, vendors, and client representatives.
- Ensure adherence to HSE standards and project quality plans.
- Support audits and provide technical guidance on hazardous area compliance.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Mandatory Certifications:
- CompEx (Ex01-Ex04) for hazardous area equipment.
- Additional modules like Ex11 (Design Engineers) or Ex12 (Responsible Persons) preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in E&I inspection in Oil & Gas projects.
- Familiarity with LV/HV systems, control systems, and fire & gas systems.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of electrical/instrumentation codes and hazardous area standards.
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills.
- Proficiency in QA/QC documentation and inspection tools
