**Education Services Specialist Role**

The Education Services Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality education services to military personnel and their families. This role requires expertise in adult education, career planning, and educational program administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective educational programs that meet the needs of military personnel and their families.
  • Provide guidance and counseling services to individuals and groups on career development, learning activities, and vocational counseling systems.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions and other stakeholders to coordinate logistical support and scheduling activities.
  • Communicate complex information orally and in writing to resolve problems and convey program resources and benefits.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree with 24 semester hours in one or more of the following areas: Tests and measurement, Adult education, Educational program administration, Curriculum development or design, Teaching methods, Guidance and counseling, Career planning, Occupational information.
  2. At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level or equivalent in other pay systems, including knowledge of education theories, concepts, principles, and practices applicable to a wide range of duties in the broad area of education.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and plan and organize independently.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Extensive knowledge of education theories, principles, and practices of secondary and adult continuing education.
  • Knowledge of current methods, procedures, and techniques used in military education.
  • Skill in adapting and extending applicable education principles and methods.
  • Ability to design and develop curriculum for adult educational or vocational programs.
