We are seeking an experienced Senior Regional Operations Professional to join our team in Istanbul. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting the region's strategy implementation, providing analytical research, business development, country and regional pipeline and portfolio monitoring, internal and external communication.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in economics, finance, or a related field, with at least 5-6 years of relevant experience in the MCT region. You will be able to read and anticipate shifts in market trends and the implications for IFC's current and future business.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor market developments and provide insights on local business trends for IFC's regional activities
  • Support the regional strategy formulation, prepare briefing materials, and contribute to partnerships with the World Bank Group and other stakeholders
  • Assist the Regional Management team with project management, planning, and monitoring of deliverables/key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Participate in pipeline and portfolio review meetings and monitor progress and performance to address potential problems, and provide relevant industry data, and company and comparator analysis
  • Maintain working knowledge of current investment, advisory, and upstream operations in MCT, and support RHOP with management queries and in overseeing upstream and advisory projects and sectoral initiatives
  • Act as the primary contact for regional information and operational support, including supporting visiting missions
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in economics, finance, or related field
  • At least 5-6 years of relevant experience in MCT region
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the country including politics, history, social dynamics, culture, economics, local markets, and regulatory framework
  • Ability to read and anticipate shifts in market trends and the implications for IFC's current and future business
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, thoughtful scenario analysis, and diligence in work quality
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, presentation abilities, and interpersonal skills plus fluency in Turkish and English is required
