Salary

The remuneration for this position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 64,121, a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 2,367 per month for the indicated duty station. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.

Job Description

Supporting Global Health Security

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Emergency Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of strategies to prevent and respond to public health emergencies, including outbreaks and pandemics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing training programs on emergency preparedness and response for national and local authorities;
  • Providing technical assistance to countries to strengthen their public health infrastructure and capacity for emergency response;
  • Collaborating with other UN agencies, NGOs, and partners to promote global health security and support countries in responding to public health emergencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A first university degree in Medicine or Public Health or other health-related fields from an accredited institute;
  • At least 5 years' experience working on the control and prevention of infectious diseases, including on epidemic diseases and networking with clinicians;
  • Expert level knowledge of infectious diseases, particularly in those areas such as influenza, critical for promoting a public health perspective and approach;
  • Proven ability to successfully coordinate, manage, and lead projects, and build partnerships, across agencies and organizational departments in the context of health emergencies.
