**Job Role:**

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Director to join our team at The Weir Group. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for driving cost optimization, process improvements, and compliance with company policies.

You will lead complex negotiations for supplier contracts, ensuring favorable terms, legal compliance, and alignment with company policies. You will also develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost while minimizing supply chain risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management & Development: Identify, evaluate, and cultivate relationships with domestic and international suppliers to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and reliability of supply.

  • Strategic Sourcing & Risk Mitigation: Develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost while minimizing supply chain risks.

  • Contract Negotiation & Compliance: Lead complex negotiations for supplier contracts, ensuring favorable terms, legal compliance, and alignment with company policies.

  • Operational Excellence & Cost Control: Utilize procurement analytics to drive cost-saving initiatives and ensure budget adherence.

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to zero harm behaviors in support of a world-class safety culture.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent; a Master's degree in engineering or business discipline is preferred.

  • Minimum 7-8 years of experience in purchasing or sourcing within a manufacturing environment, with expertise in casting, metalworking, and machining parts.

  • Proven experience leading supplier negotiations, contract management, sourcing strategies, and cost analysis.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
