Job Description:
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Humanitarian Coordinator to lead our humanitarian response in North West Syria. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of women and girls affected by crisis.

'About the Role:'
As a Humanitarian Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient coordination and programmatic support to UNFPA's humanitarian programming in Gaziantep, Turkey. You will work closely with UN agencies, Syrian and International NGOs, and coordinate through mechanisms such as the cluster system to provide humanitarian assistance to crisis-affected communities. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the development and implementation of UNFPA's humanitarian interventions in North West Syria
  • Providing strategic vision and direction to the UNFPA team in Gaziantep
  • Collaborating with UN agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated humanitarian response
  • Ensuring that implementing partner work plans, procurement, travel, and HR-related requests are satisfactory and approvals are facilitated/completed
  • Representing UNFPA at Cluster/Working Group coordination meetings, with a focus on the SRH Working Group and GBV Sub-Cluster

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A master's degree in Humanitarian Assistance, Public Health, Social Sciences, Demography, Gender, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in coordinating, developing, and implementing humanitarian interventions in crisis settings
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently under high pressure
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams to achieve demonstrable results
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is a strong asset
