The Role of a Regional Staff CounsellorAs a Regional Staff Counsellor with UNICEF, you will play a critical role in promoting the wellbeing of our staff across the Europe and Central Asia region. Your expertise will help us develop and implement a regional framework for staff wellbeing, providing support and resources to ensure our employees can thrive in their roles.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a regional framework for staff wellbeing, including strategies for improving work-life balance, reducing stress, and enhancing resilience.
- Provide psycho-social support to staff, including individual and group counselling, as well as training and awareness-raising on mental health and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the region to identify and address psychosocial needs and issues affecting staff wellbeing.
- Contribute to the development of new modalities for awareness-raising and training, such as e-learning and webinars, to make staff wellbeing information accessible to all.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An advanced university degree in counselling, clinical psychology or a related field, with additional training or certification in staff support and traumatic/critical incident stress management.
- A minimum of eight years of professional experience in staff support, mental health, cross-cultural communications, counselling, and related areas, preferably gained within the UN system or international development humanitarian aid sector.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, with knowledge of another UN language (French, Russian) an asset.
