For our subsidiary in Istanbul, we are looking for a Relationship Manager, Vice President within Global Corporate & Investment (GCIB) Banking Departmenton a full-time basis/permanent contract who is keen to develop herself / himself in innovative finance together with MUFG's product experts.

The Vice President for GCIB will be responsible for origination, maintenance and development of multi-product relationships with Sovereign and corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Originate, manage, and develop a portfolio of existing and targeted new public and private GCIB clients in line with the bank's credit policy and onboarding criteria.
  • Work with MUFG products and services to deliver to the expectations of our clients.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers at both Treasurer and C-Suite level, with regular visits at Group Treasurer level or above, as well as CFO meetings regularly.
  • Demonstrate active Relationship Management with strong and effective partnerships with all stakeholders including Credit, Products, and the Global Network where applicable.
  • Achieve individual and collective Financial and Non-Financial Performance Targets in consultation with the Head of GCIB.
  • Manage and monitor business plans for the portfolio to meet business objectives including NOP, RoE enhancement, and Balance Sheet Management.
  • Maintain a pipeline reflecting the stages of new business opportunities, conduct successful deal screenings in line with procedure and full buy-in of stakeholders.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of credit applications in consultation with all stakeholders and prepare the proposal to seek business and credit approvals.
  • Prepare account plans, return calculations, client proposals, presentations and pitches.
  • Develop business leads with Products, as appropriate, to maximize business growth for clients and MUFG.
  • Consult with Legal, Credit, Tax and Compliance and take appropriate commercial decisions in cooperation with Head of GCIB to review, negotiate and implement legal documentation including loans, ensuring full compliance with Credit, Sanctions, Bank and Regulatory Policy, other Applicable Policies and Banking Law and Applicable Regulations.
  • Support KYC outreach and review, ensuring timely completion of KYC and performance of Compliance Duties and Tasks.

In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 8-12 years of experience in Corporate and Investment Banking, or Structured Finance, ECA Finance, Development Finance / International Finance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
  • Robust understanding and experience with relevant products offered by MUFG, including Transaction Banking, Working Capital Solutions, Forex and Derivatives, Debt Capital & Loan Markets, Aircraft Finance, Commodity Finance, ECA Finance, Blended Finance and Project Finance.
  • Understanding of principles of Sustainable Finance.
  • Experienced with applicable law, legislation and regulation, including KYC and Compliance.
  • Social skills are required to maintain good internal and external contacts. A cooperative spirit, a proactive attitude and own initiatives are essential as well as a service-minded approach.
